Sharing a launch monitor

Recommended Posts

I am trying to find some concrete info on sharing a launch monitor with a golf buddy down the street. We are considering splitting the cost of one and each using it to collect data, practice, and simulator type play.

Is anyone sharing a launch monitor like this? Does yours require both people to subscribe? How do you keep the data separate if sharing an account?

Currently looking at 3 models:

With the garmin you can both have your own app and login. You don't need the premium features with the r10.

The E6 that comes with it create a new email and share the password. You can have your own login for stats inside e6.

I should be golfing instead of talking smack on the web.

Response to my email from Square Golf this morning. They responded in ~1.5 hours.

Hi Cody,

Thanks for getting in touch.

Sharing the Device: Yes, both of you can download the app and create your own accounts to track personal stats. Just make sure that the correct account is logged in each time and only one device is needed if you're looking to share it.

Playing the Simulator Together: You can indeed play the simulator together, and credits are charged per player, per hole. Credits are deducted from whichever account is logged in at the time. Your metrics from simulator games, however, can only be downloaded from specific modes like driving range, closest to the pin, putting simulator, and data mode.

Driving Range Mode: Unfortunately, driving range mode is a single-player feature, so only one person can use it at a time. However, all metrics can still be downloaded to your device for personal tracking.

Kind Regards,

Wtf are credits?

Their course simulator feature requires credits to play that's how they technically get around the subscription. The driving range and stats are all included but if you want to play on a simulated course its 1 credit per hole per player. It comes with 1,000 credits and credits are $20 per 1,000. They're saying 1 person can play ~55 rounds of simulated golf for 1,000 credits or $20.

I'm out. That's a subscription.

Once a week is 20 bucks a year on that math. Some times I play 2 or 3 a day

Home sim setup I've played so many times that's more expensive than a e6 subscription but the r10 and most others come with a handful of course at no charge.
